The Movie Mutant has curated a collection of the weirdest movie trailers, music videos, and oddball clips to perfectly accompany the night’s theme.
Steve Barkett wrote, produced, directed, edited, and stars in EMPIRE OF THE DARK (1991). This Magnum Opus run 93 minutes and is NOT suitable for children.
SEATING IS LIMITED
Please arrive early to the chapel in order to get your best seat. Seating is first come first served. PLEASE do not save seats. The pews in the chapel can be a bit stiff so a pillow or blanket is recommended for maximum comfort.

Joining us for the evening are filmmaker Steve Barkett’s children, Laura McQuay and Christopher Barkett!
Laura McQuay is the daughter of actor / director Steve Barkett. Although film has always been her passion, she began her career as a graphic artist and fashion accessories designer in the Dallas, Texas area. In 2009, she began to pursue work on independent film projects as a coordinator, production manager, producer and director.
Christopher Barkett is the son of actor / director Steve Barkett. Chris co-starred with his dad in the cult classic films “The Aftermath” & “Empire of the Dark”.
At a young age, he worked on some of the models used in “The Aftermath” special effects scenes, which were designed by 3 time Academy Award winners Bob and Denny Skotak (“Aliens”, “The Abyss”, and “Terminator 2”).
As an adult, Chris has had the good fortune to work on, and around various other films and tv shows. As well as, side by side for nearly two years in Hollywood with two time Academy Award winner Robert Stromberg (“Avatar” and “Alice in Wonderland”), creating special effects on his dad’s film “Empire of the Dark”.

ABOUT THE MUTANT BAZAAR
THE MUTANT BAZAAR (formerly Weird Wednesday) is Fort Worth’s longest running Night Market and Movie Screening series! Once a month, The Movie Mutant takes over Southside Preservation Hall for a night of movies, art, collectors, and more. There’s free parking, food on-site, and it’s BYOB.

- PARKING – All parking is free. Once the lot on Maddox is full, please find street parking.

Southside Preservation Hall is requesting “pay what you can” donations for entry.
All door donations go directly to the Southside Preservation Hall and their goal of restoring the building.
